Craving Pasta? Try This.

Love pasta but not the calories? Try this spiralled zucchini pasta recipe instead, a healthy alternative that will leave you satisfied without sacrificing flavour. The ingredients are simple but pack a delicious punch. This recipe does include spaghetti but only trace amounts. You still get that great pasta taste without all the added calories. The best part is the ingredients are simple, affordable and easy to work with. All  you’ll need to prepare this mouth-watering meal is:

  1. Zucchini (Spiralized) 
  2. Basil
  3. Tomatoes
  4. Parmesan
  5. Garlic
  6. Extra-Virgin Olive Oil 
  7. Salt and Pepper
  8. Spaghetti (very small amount)
 
 
Step 1 

Wash and peel (peeling optional) your zucchini. Next, get out your spiralizer or hand spiralize the zucchini so that you have spaghetti like strands. 

Step 2

Wash and de-stem your tomatoes. Next, chop or dice them based on your preference. 

Step 3

Wash and mince your basil. 

Step 4

Peel chop or crush your garlic.

Step 4 

In a pan bring one handful of spaghetti to boil. Do not over boil. Once your spaghetti is al dente, strain the noodles and remove it from the heat. 

Step 5

In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil and add in your zucchini, basil, tomatoes, garlic and salt and pepper. Cook your ingredients for 8 minutes, stirring regularly. Once your ingredience are cooked to  your liking, add in your pasta and stir for another 3 minutes. This will coat your pasta in the sauce and enrich it with deliciousness. 

Step 6: 

Plate your pasta and top it with the Parmesan cheese. Serve and enjoy!
